Welcoming to our Official Slow Fish 2018 Oyster gathering on Pier 45.  Beautiful oysters from Alaska to Baja await you!  Professional mixologist from Bombay Sapphire Gin will be serving specialty cocktails; all with these beautiful oysters in mind.  And Beer donated by Patagonia Provisions. Meet and greet the fishing community at this super cool, laid-back location.

Sunday At SOMArts:  Organic light breakfast, coffee and tea.  Meet some of the most interesting and inspiring folks in North America! Indigenous Welcoming by Jacquelyn Ross, Coast Miwok/Pomo Tribal Leader. Hear compelling success stories showcasing what Slow Fish is, what it does, what its values are, and why it matters. Feast on a catered seafood lunch before diving deeper into important issues via rich, audience-led, World Cafe style roundtable discussions. Speakers include:

Monday at SOMArts: Another organic light breakfast, catered seafood lunch, 30 presentations from folks around the nation.  Diving deeper on topics like fresh vs. frozen, seafood fraud, small foraged fish, water rights and ocean commons, and so much more.  Presenters include:

  • A full screening of Of the Sea, directed by Mischa Hedges.
  • A showing of the a trailer for a new film to come out this year: The Wild, by Mark Titus (also directed The Breach).
  • Both filmmakers will be there!
  • Launch of the Slow Fish YouTube channel for the event.

There are very few tickets left for the Bristol Bay dinner at Fish Restaurant.

If you cannot make it, please consider donating $10.  

We are fundraising to cover some of the expenses for specific students, fishermen, and local tribal leaders.  We have a $3000 match from The Marine Fish Conservation Network! So if you donate $10 it turns to $20! Every small donation helps us stay true to our “fair” mission with this conference.   The Slow Fish Scholarship Fund
